Taliya has gone online!

Just bought my own name domain yesterday night. Stayed up till about 5plus thinking whether I should use a more designer-ish name along the line of 11pixels Studios or Tazz Creatives or something. But then looked at most of the freelancer portfolios around and realised most of them used their name. So I guess it's easier for people to remember your URL since it's your name. So i just decided on http://www.taliyaong.com. Eventually I will using this blog for my personal stuff like my daily life and my korean language learning. For all things design related, they will be on my personal portfolio site. =) It'll be where I may/may not try to design some icons and maybe give them out for free or some wallpapers and of course, they will be where I will showcase my resume & portfolio etc.

I have been procrastinating  for long enough in doing up my portfolio. Now that I have taken this step, it felt great! Invigorating! Haha... Bye~ go do up my Under Construction page!

First Media Design School

Just saw a pamphlet on this new design school called the First Media Design School. They offer Advanced Diploma and BA from partner Universities. One of the programmes that caught my eye was the Design Management Specialist programme (http://firstmedia.edu.sg/programmes/special/spec_dm1.html). It teaches and trains designers in design skills (duh!) and at the same time covers management modules. This, supposedly, sets us up to prepare ourselves for managing and supervisory positions.

Actually, if I can further my studies, I would. However, my main issue is that it'd be really tedious with all these school loans/bank loans etc... Keeping my options open right now...

Insanity

hhaha.. i think I am crazy.. a workholic insane person... cuz I actually spend the whole night trying to fix the blogskin. I mean I am doing websites for ppl at work and when i reach hm i still cant stop.. and in fact spent the whole night editting other ppl's html code and css to suit myself... but anyway... got this blog skin from blogskin.com... then editted the codes to suit my fancy cuz the CSS wasn't really very fantastic. Now it's much closer to the structure for what I normally do for my clients. It's 6am now.. and I am just going off to sleep. Sweet dreams to me.
